Irving, Texas - March 23, 2016 - NEC Corporation of America (NEC), a leading
provider and integrator of advanced IT, communications, networking and biometric solutions, today announced with NEC Corporation, that its
UNIVERGE BLUE Business Cloud Services UCaaS cloud-based solution received the highest overall score in the annual Unified Communications mock
Request for Proposal (RFP) session, "A UCaaS/Hybrid RFP: What Can Cloud Providers Deliver?," at the Enterprise Connect 2016 conference held
at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, Florida, March 7-10. Enterprise Connect is the leading conference and exposition on enterprise
communications and collaboration. NEC was also recognized last year at Enterprise Connect as the best cloud solution in the UCaaS/Hybrid RFP
assessment session.
Each year at Enterprise Connect, a mock RFP session is held. The mock RFP is a simulation of the requests that enterprises and government
agencies put out when looking for a new unified communications solution. The session, led by independent consultant David Stein, Principal
at Stein Technology Consulting Group, assesses UC/IP telephony products developed by communications vendors. Each of the vendors that
participate is required to answer questions related to their solutions' architecture, features, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) over a 5
year period. In this year's RFP exercise, the analysis was only on cloud - and hybrid-based solutions - a change from previous years.
This year's rating's scale remains the same as years past - offered 50 percent of the score to functional/technical requirements, 25 percent
to architecture requirements, and the final 25 percent to pricing. "As seen last year, NEC again provided a strong UCaaS solution that
excelled across all measures. NEC actually scored highest in all the RFP categories. With high scalability and redundancy plus a platform that
delivers a flexible architecture across either private, public or hybrid cloud, we felt the NEC solution was well-deserving of the accolades
received," said David Stein, principal, Stein Technology Consulting Group, and facilitator of the RFP session.
The primary objective of the workshop is to help enterprise companies prepare, write and evaluate their own RFP document. The session
covered a range of topics including: Examining key trends and the system offerings from leading suppliers for hybrid and private cloud
deployments: the strengths and weaknesses of these vendor offerings: and assigning subjective rankings based on architecture, functionality
and cost.
"These RFP sessions provide a true simulation of the bid review process for unified communications vendors and are very popular at the
Enterprise Connect show," said Larry Levenberg, vp, NEC Corporation of America. "NEC consistently ranks at or near the top in delivering
value to its customers and we are very pleased to win top honors for the second straight year. The consistent results we have achieved in
this mock RFP further validate the value of NEC solutions."
